Everyday an Extra Day

A film by Gustav Johansson

The Stars (Are Out Tonight)

Well, there is Tilda Swinton, Andrej Pejic, Saskia de Brauw and it is So So much Bowie.
Unbelievable, these people together.

The Guardian says this: "Directed by Floria Sigismondi and shot by Jeff Cronenweth, the video is certainly a striking piece of work – dealing with androgyny and musing on the meaning of fame, and illuminating the meaning of the lyrics"
They read my thoughts...
If this is not enough, the exhibition David Bowie Is opens tomorrow at the V&A, a retrospective of his extraordinary career in fashion, sound, graphics, theatre, art & film.

Stoneage Sword, 2012
Stoneware and Mineral Clay

“The Stone Age sword is based on a primitive weapon which was the progenitor of stone weapons and tools made during the Stone Age. It is multifaceted and fits nicely in the hand. The “sword” is meant to play the same role as its predecessor, the latter of which we no longer know how to employ, but rather keep on display in a museum where it serves us as decoration and a reminder of past times.”

Henrik Vibskov and Nordic Design Today exhibition

I think everybody knows how much I love Henrik Vibskov.
To see his work as part of an exhibition or as a piece of art is always a surprise.  The installation as part of the exhibition Nordic Design Today,  which opened on march 12th at the Icelandic Museum of Design definitely did not disappoint. The bonus was to see some pieces that I actually own here as well.

The exhibition presents six of the most significant designers of our time in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. All of them have been awarded the Torsten and Wanja Söderberg s Prize the largest design prize of its kind in the world. The designers are: Front, Harri Koskinen, Henrik Vibskov, Sigurd Bronger, Sigurður Gústafsson and Steinunn Sigurdardóttir. The exhibition is brought to Iceland in collaboration with The Iceland Design Center and with support from Eimskip.
