Burgertrut, the place for Burgers in Rotterdam

Burgertrut is the newly opened restaurant as part of Roodkapje’s  'Cultural Warehouse'. Mostly organic food, good burgers (try the risotto one, it is amazing)
They also serve Fritz Kola and since Worm is still waiting for its reopening in september in the new location Burgertrut is now the only place where they serve the Kola mit ganz fiel KAfein! Their lemon tasting lemonade also tastes really nice.
I recommend the Fritz lemonade with Dagmar's Meatloaf!

Björk's new projects coming into life live soon.

I found myself exclaiming a number of times in recent history that it was well time that Björk would start to work on a new project. I need some new material, even though I have enjoyed many revisits to Debut lately.
And how is it possible that I only have just found out.
There is a new state of the art website, there is a new record coming out in September called Biophilia and there are some very special performances in Manchester soon.
Need to book a ticket now…

Until then some amazing photographs from Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin

And a small clip.

Add some wood, add some ceramics..

Something Blue

Zuperzozial

I just ran in to these new cups, bowls and plates while browsing for coffee the other day. I was drawn by the paper-esque look, and picked one up. I soon learned that the new superlight Zuperzozial tableware is 100% biodegradable. It is made out of bamboo fiber and corn powder. The claim is that it can be cleaned easily and when you are tired of it you could just put it into your backgarden, burry and grow your future vegetables on its remains. It comes in several colors, although since the tones are so 'calm' I would opt for the coconut white with a macchiato brown or the lemony yellow.

Giana Factory: a little confesion..

When I saw Giana Factory open for the Raveonettes it was not just my Love for Scandinavian Girls that got me interested in their music. Also it was not just to do with their good looks, dresses and haircuts. It may have had something to do with the instrumentation but mostly they just blew me a little bit away. I REALLY LIKED THIS CONCERT, having become a bit spoiled lately on the music side of things, big surprises like this do not happen on a daily basis. Seeing and listening to Giana Factory was a bit like suddenly receiving an early birthday present.
I bought their cd 'Save The Youth' which has some good songs, like Rainbow Girl and Dirty Snow of which the latter on was already remixed by Trentemoller.
The sound they call entirely theirs is made up of gloomy synths and crispdrum pads with atmospheric guitars and sparklingly fresh melodies.
I think we will be seeing more of Louise Foo, Lisbet Fritze and Sofie Johanne.
And even though we do not like name-dropping all that much and the girls do not even need this stamp of approval: it looks like Louise Foo has inherited some of the same musical and style genes as here older sister Sharin Foo.

The home of Kate Foley, 'a Opening Ceremony Darling'

Opening Ceremony is a true ' Style Safe Haven '
A warehouse for everything you like, from wonderful dresses, good show-off-shoes or the best umbrella in the world. So it would be good if owners Carol and Humberto would open up a Central European branch.
This is the house of Kate Foley, who is not just modelling some of their pieces and an advocat of the cutest socks but is also a buyer for the warehouse.

Raveonettes

Last night in Utrecht the Raveonettes were amazing again, off course. This time around their set was a bit more dark and they took along a twosome guitar/percussionists. Danish charm never kills.

Urban Cone

This tune is a perfect match for the summerbreeze in the air today!
I look forward to hearing more from these Swedish Boys, and also I want a necklace just like theirs.

Cornellia & Co a Daily Picninc Store in Barcelona

Cornellia & Co  a Daily Picnic Store is located on Calle Valencia in Barcelona.
I recently visited the place and told one of the staff members within minutes of entering that I wanted to stay forever and live there.
First of all, it is cool inside, in every sense of the word, which sure is nice in Barcelona.
But off course the wonderful interior, the amazing selection of fresh food to eat or packed food to take home is the best of this place which only openend some six months ago.
I tried the honey fried aubergine which tasted like nothing else I had ever eaten. Also the small dishes like ham-croquettes were really lovely.
The gnocchi was to-die-for. Other dishes on the photographs here are the truffle-pumpkin soup and apple-risotto.
Really nice, a must visit if I had not said that yet.
And ask for the wine with the donkey, it is a white housewine but soo lovely and soft.
It was hard explaining to the waiters the second time around that we wanted the wine with the donkey drawing, but with a little bit of IE-AA we came quite far, or far enough.
Go there!
