Charlotte Perriand & Jean Prouvé

"The extension of the art of dwelling is the art of living- living in harmony with man's deepest drives and with his adopted or fabricated environment." According to Charlotte Perriand.

Being involved in leftist activities Charlotte made use traditional materials and old handcraft techniques for they were more affordable. The collaboration between the artist and craftsmen is at heart here in a time were technical developments were moving fast.

Like Jean Prouvé with whom Charlotte Perriand collaborated extensively her designs have resulted in more then just a classic.

A number of their pieces are up for auction on the 7th of april at Phillips de Pury & Company
